Whether you are a competitive athlete who has spent many years training or looking to embark on the journey toward a healthier lifestyle, we partner with you to define your goals and achieve what might seem unreachable at first. Progress is made when we aim out of our comfort zone. We spend a lot of time dispelling the myths that endless hours of cardio will help you achieve your fitness goals in your adult years. Strength training is a key component to overall health as we age. Age-related muscle loss, called sarcopenia, is a natural part of aging. After age 30, we begin to lose as much as 3% to 5% per decade. Programming for our adult and general fitness clientele begins with our systematic evaluation and performance assessment. This not only provides a baseline entry point for the clients’ fitness level, but also measures muscle function, range of motion, mobility / flexibility, and pinpoints areas of general weakness or prior injury. A periodization program will be designed with the goal of increasing lean muscle mass, improving flexibility and mobility, and maintaining cardiovascular health.
